Meet-up at Zion Community Cafe, Bristol
Fancy trying something new? Well so did we!
This months meet had a new location, we met at Zion in Bedminster Down, Bristol and this time everyone was invited! This meet was an open meet and an opportunity for members of the public to come and see what we do and maybe even join in. We had almost a dozen intrigued members of public that were open to exploring a new hobby and we gladly welcomed a few new members by the end of the night!
Jess, who owns and runs Zion as a ‘safe creative space for all the community to use’. It has a daytime café alongside facilities for families with a soft play area for kids and runs over 200 activities and events each year. In fact Zion is currently running a Community Share Scheme to raise funds to keep this special space going for everyone: here is there website to find out more: zionbristol.co.uk
As members, we brought MOCs along to 'show and tell' and opened up about the AFOL world and all its wonder! Members MOCs included a Lee and his very topical Platinum Jubilee theme builds and others ranged from modern cars to Star Wars dioramas and medieval themed MOCs. This was only a small taster of what you'd get to see at any one of our main LEGO shows.
It was really nice venue to hold a meet with nice open spaces for people. The menu is amazing and you must try one of Tanya's cheesecakes and their deluxe hot chocolate! We certainly look forward to linking up again at some point in the future and thanks again for hosting us Zion!
