Website Revamp

The GertLUG Committee would like to announce that during the last weekend of August, our webmaster will be taking our website offline for a much needed revamp. This will take place during Saturday 30th - Sunday 31st August 2025. During this time, the website will not be accessible to our members and the general public. The website will go offline at midnight on Saturday the 30th and we hope to get it back online by midnight on the Sunday 31st or during the early hours of Monday the 1st September.

As part of this revamp, we will be updating the design of the website, adding new pages, removing pages no longer needed, adding some new features and making the site more user friendly as well as moving all the old blog photos onto a different server to free up space on our webserver.

We would like to inform our members that none of your account details or log-in information will be effected by the revamp. Your usernames, passwords etc will remain the same.

A note from our webmaster:

During our annual elections held back in April/May, I ran for the role of webmaster and was voted onto the committee by our membership. As part of my election commitments to the membership, I vowed to give the GertLUG website a full revamp and bring it up-to-date. The current design of the website has been in place since the GertLUG website was created in 2019 and little has changed on it since then and so it is in real need of a revamp.

I will keep the website offline for the shortest time possible, but this revamp will be a big task and will likely take the entire weekend to complete.

I would like to offer my thanks to our previous webmaster for all of his hard work creating and maintaining the GertLUG website for the last 6 years and for the smooth handover of the role to me. I would also like to thank the GertLUG membership for their vote of confidence and electing me as their new webmaster.
