GertLUG City 2025

We are very excited to announce our next collaborative display for 2025: GertLUG City!
Taking inspiration from the official “Ninjago City” sets, and inspired by the LEGO Ninjago movie and wider Ninjago Theme.

Intro:
The city will be made up of 32x32 baseplate "blocks" built on three basic templates and when put together will create an expansive and long city scape. Ninjago City is a vertically stacked metropolis on the coast of the fictional continent of Ninjago. If you are not familiar with Ninjago, there is now loads of inspiration available.

The visual style of Ninjago City, as portrayed in the official sets is of a vertically stacked city which is an eclectic blend of traditional and modern architecture. The lower levels of the city are a bit run-down, or simply older, wood construction. Earth Tones and simple, de-saturated colours, worn sidewalks, and plenty of vegetation set the scene.

As we work our way up to the second level (there are generally two floors or stories for each level) the city is cleaner and newer, with brighter colours and plenty of shops and advertising. The third level, which not every block needs to have, can continue the aesthetic of the second level, or start to shift towards a more futuristic vibe.

One of the beauties of the Ninjago Cityapproach is that buildings can be anything, from shops to homes, blacksmiths to comic book
stores. Let your imagination run wild
